On serving as an Attorney:
"First and foremost, I am a servant of Jesus Christ, who reminds me every day that this world is not my home and it does not define who I am. I am His and He has given me an incredible career in the law. However, He is teaching me that the most important case that I will ever handle is the one I am living out every day before my family, my friends and my clients that will one day end before the Judge of Creation. By keeping the goal of finishing life’s race with a final verdict of ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant’, everything else falls into its rightful place."

On serving as a Rule 31 Listed Mediator:
"I have been an advocate for years, fighting hard for my clients and trying jury trials all over Tennessee. While that role is exciting and rewarding, I have found that being a part of the solution, as a peacemaker, is something that God is calling me to do. In a world that is growing increasingly contentious, I am reminded of the importance of promoting peace every opportunity I am given, both personally and professionally. “Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called children of God”-Matthew 5:9. My experience as a mediator has already shown me the beauty and power of just listening to others. Acting as a mediator gives me the incredible opportunity to listen to both sides, really listen. Then I get to promote listening with both sides until we all hear the magical moment when a resolution appears and peace replaces conflict."
